UK Knife Law

As custom knife maker it is quite obviously important for me to keep a close eye on the ever changing knife laws in the UK,

The best place for this being straight from the horses mouth, the government, and I suggest that you, a customer do the same, this is a good place to start: https://www.gov.uk/buying-carrying-knives . This is especially the case if you are thinking of commissioning me to build you a knife, I point you to the official list of banned bladed items on the government website. As I have stated on my commissions page, I will not make anything illegal, and have no qualms about reporting you to the police if you attempt to get me to make something illegal, as well as let others in the UK bladesmithing community know that you should not be served! I hope you understand. Knife crime in the UK is getting out of hand, and I would be absolutely mortified if one of my peices were to be used for criminal purposes.

In addition, again as stated in various product descriptions and on my commissions page, ID that clearly shows that the buyer is over 18 (passport or drivers licence is fine) must be emailed to me at paul@nashwight.com before I will process an order from the store or begin any commissions, again, this is a legal requirement here in the UK. Once I have seen a photo of your ID, I will delete it, in line with data protection laws. I will also ship your knife using a private courier (usually UPS) who will also need proof of age at point of delivery. See my other policy pages for more. Thank you for understanding. Paul

Please note: UK law is constantly changing, and the legal requirements for me as a seller may also change in the near future, so please keep an eye on this page if you visit my site . Thanks
