Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

If you want to return any item to me, please get in touch via paul@nashwight.com before you post it and I’ll let you know the best way to do so.

You can return your piece within 30 days as long as the product is unused and in the original packaging.

Return postage

Assuming your purchase is being returned within 30 days, it should be sent with a service that provides a proof of postage and requires a signature on delivery and ID that provides proof of age, in line with current UK law concerning knives, along with insurance insurance coverage (at your discretion, but I bear no responsibility until I receive it). The buyer must cover the return postage costs unless the knife is being returned due to maker faults, as outlined below.

Postage refunds

All returned items will be posted at the buyers expense other than where it’s a makers fault. In this instance I will be happy to arrange for a courier to collect the faulty item or refund the cost of return postage if it’s more convenient for you to post it yourself.

Manufacturer faults

If you are returning a knife you believe is in some way defective, or not as described, please let me know before you send it. I personally inspect every knife (extensive rockwell hardness testing of blades and springs, as well as dye penetrant testing) prior to posting and package them carefully to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

Chips, wear and tear and accidental damage or improper use over time do not constitute a manufacturer fault but if your knife has been damaged in some way, it can often be repaired so don’t hesitate to get in touch I`ll see if it can be fixed! I am also happy to provide one free sharpening service per knife, assuming the edge is not too badly damaged, but buyer pays postage!

Please see my page about knife care, proper usage and what constitutes misuse and abuse, signs of which will NOT get your refund approved, though I will return the poor thing to you, at your expense.

Item specific policies

Commissions (knives and jewelery)

Due to the sometimes unique nature of commissioned knives, and as outlined on the commissions page, 50% of the cost of the knife is non refundable as it is to cover the expense of materials and other costs. The remaining balance is refundable based on the above conditions.

Nash Wight Merch

These items come from our print partners and are printed to order, and are therefore not refundable. I hope you understand.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, I will send you an email to notify you that I have received your returned item. I will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Again you should consult our pages about proper use and care of knives, and be aware of what I consider proper use and what I consider misuse/abuse, the latter of which will not be approved for refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges

I only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for a similar item (such as a similarly priced slipjoint for a slipjoint), send us an email at paul@nashwight.com and send your item to: 17 South street, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, UK, PO381NG , but again note that the knife must be unused and in its original packaging.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Paul Nash, 17 South street, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, UK, PO381NG

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
